The Guido Fluri Foundation promotes the social acceptance and integration of people suffering from schizophrenia. One focus of the Foundation is on sufferers’ relatives, who can make a significant difference in terms of the well-being of those affected.
Every 100th person will suffer from schizophrenia in their lifetime.
The information platform Living with Schizophrenia includes an extensive collection of questions frequently asked by relatives and caregivers of people with schizophrenia. The answers are contributed by those with schizophrenia, as well as relatives and professionals, who share their experiences, opinions and knowledge.
In addition, accessible online counselling supports relatives impacted by the illness. The advisers include people who have coped with and overcome similar situations themselves. This approach fosters a rich tapestry of perspectives and allows ample room for individuals to share their wisdom and experiences.
Living with Schizophrenia is a project run by the Guido Fluri Foundation in collaboration with the Pro Mente Sana Foundation, Vereinigungen von Angehörigen psychisch Kranker (Associations of Relatives of the Mentally Ill), Netzwerk Angehörigenarbeit Psychiatrie (Network of Family Involvement in Psychiatry), and Selbsthilfe Schweiz (Self-Help Switzerland).
